Master’s degree students of the Faculty of Philosophy received their diplomas
On January 20, 2026, on the day marking the 365th anniversary of the
founding of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, a solemn ceremony was held
to award diplomas to graduates of the Master`s program of the Faculty of
Philosophy.
At the beginning of the ceremony, participants thanked the defenders of Ukraine
for their resilience and selfless struggle for the freedom and independence of
Ukraine, expressing special gratitude to representatives of the faculty`s academic
community, including teachers, graduate students, and undergraduates. A moment
of silence was also observed to honor the memory of the faculty`s graduates — the
Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as all
military personnel and civilians whose lives were taken by the terrorist state of
russia.
The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and Innovation, Professor Olena Kvas,
Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Professor Anatolii Romaniuk, and Head of the
Faculty Student Trade Union, Anastasia Marchak, addressed the graduates with
words of welcome.
Anna Tishchenko and Dzvenyslava Chelepys, graduates of the Psychology
program, expressed their gratitude to their Alma Mater and the faculty, the dean`s
office, the faculty and teaching staff, their classmates, and their parents.
A congratulatory gift for the graduates of the faculty was prepared by the
members of the folk bandura ensemble Zoryanitsa (led by Anna Kysil).
This year, 122 graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy received their long-
awaited master’s degrees in Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Political Science, and
Psychology.
Dean of the Faculty, Professor Anatoliy Romanyuk, also presented
certificates to master’s graduates for their achievements in their studies, scientific
work, active participation in the public life of the faculty, and defense of Ukraine’s
independence and territorial integrity.
A special moment of the celebration was the presentation of the annual
student award “Pride of the Faculty of Philosophy” for 2025 to the best graduates
and employees of the faculty.
Our master’s students continued the charitable initiative of the Faculty of
Philosophy – “I think, therefore I donate!” campaign, which this time was aimed at
the needs of the psychological support unit of one of the assault brigades, where
this year’s graduate of the “Psychology” specialty, Dzvenyslava Chelepys. Through
joint efforts, we managed to collect over 13,000 hryvnias.
Traditionally, the solemn academy ended with a joint performance of the
student anthem “Gaudeamus.”
The academic community of the Faculty of Philosophy congratulates the
masters of 2025 and emphasizes: “You are the intellectual elite of Ukraine. We
believe in your success, in your resilience, and in your happy future under the
peaceful sky of a free state. Glory to the graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy!
Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!”
