Guest lecture by Olena Yuriyivna Kosianova
On March 11, 2025, as part of the academic course “Psychodiagnostics” a guest lecture will be held by Olena Yuriyivna Kosianova, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Practical Psychology at the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky, polygraph expert, and a full member of the All-Ukrainian Association of Polygraphologists of Ukraine. The lecture will be on the topic: “Methods and Techniques of Lie Detection. The Use of Polygraph in Modern Psychodiagnostics.”
During the meeting, the following topics will be discussed:
- Non-verbal signs of deception: facial expressions, gestures, posture;
- Verbal indicators of lying: linguistic constructs, intonation, pauses;
- Questionnaires, tests, and their adaptation into the Ukrainian language;
- Psychophysiological methods: polygraph principles, analysis of results.
Special attention will be given to the polygraph method, its capabilities, and limitations.
