“The State, Prospects, and Challenges of Postgraduate Education Amid Full-Scale War” — this was the title of the meeting held between the members of the working group on the development and revision of the “Political Science” educational and scientific doctoral program and the stakeholder, Halyna Zelenko, Deputy Director of the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethno-National Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, and Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by members of the working group for the development and renewal of the “Political Science” third-cycle (educational and scientific) higher education program: Anatolii Semenovych Romaniuk, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Doctor of Political Science, Professor; Hennadii Volodymyrovych Shypunov, Head of the Department of Theory and History of Political Science, Doctor of Political Science, Professor; Vitalii Serhiiovych Lytvyn, Acting Head of the Department of Political Science, Doctor of Political Science, Professor; Ihor Yaroslavovych Vdovychуn, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Political Science, Doctor of Political Science, Professor, and academic guarantor of the “Political Science” doctoral program.

Participants of the meeting discussed the current state of doctoral training in political science and identified the main challenges facing postgraduate education in Ukraine under the conditions of full-scale war. In particular, Professor Vitalii Lytvyn, a member of the Scientific Committee of the National Council of Ukraine for Science and Technology Development under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, presented the concept of implementing project-based doctoral studies in Ukraine. This idea became a subject of discussion at the latest session of the Committee.

Additionally, the participants reviewed the current curriculum and educational program for doctoral students in political science to determine necessary updates. They also outlined key directions and forms of future cooperation between the Departments of Theory and History of Political Science, Political Science, and the I. F. Kuras Institute of Political and Ethno-National Studies of the NAS of Ukraine.
