Course description
“Rhetoric and Speechwriting” is an elective course within the cycle of professional and practical training for students pursuing the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education at the Faculty of Philosophy. The course is taught during the 5th semester of the 3rd year and carries 3.5 credits (in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System – ECTS).
The main goal of this course is to transform public speaking from a punishment into a reward. It aims to teach students how to perceive themselves and their audience, how to construct a speech effectively on both verbal and non-verbal levels, how to overcome anxiety, and how to develop their own unique style of public speaking. This is the essence of the proposed course.
The course is strongly practice-oriented – its core focus is on helping each student develop an effective model of self-presentation, identify personal leadership qualities, and form a clear vision of their own developmental path.
