Course description
The discipline “Philosophy of Politics” is a normative discipline of the cycle of professional and practical training of the first (bachelor’s) higher education in the specialty 052 “Political Science” for the educational program “Political Science”, which is taught in the 3rd and 4th semester in the amount of 5 credits (according to the European Credit Transfer System ECTS). The discipline “Philosophy of Politics” is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills for further professional knowledge, understanding of the basics of the functioning of the political sphere of life, general principles and mechanisms of politics as part of the social sphere.
The course is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge of the general principles of the political sphere of human existence, the philosophical foundations of political knowledge and political practice, the determinants of the formation and transformation of political values at the individual and social level, the place of man in society and the political sphere, and the peculiarities of the impact of modern technologies on individual and mass consciousness in policy making.
The purpose of the course “Philosophy of Politics” is to form students’ understanding of the philosophical foundations and origins of political science, to introduce them to the philosophical understanding of topical issues of political existence, cognition, and the place of man in the political system of society.
The object of the course is philosophical concepts of politics.
The subject of the course is political.
